Master of Accountancy (MAcc)
This programme aims to equip bachelor’s degree graduates with the necessary accounting knowledge and skills to pursue a career in professional accounting and to provide a learning environment to develop students for executive positions in the accounting area in Hong Kong and the Greater China region. It also nurtures student’s ethical decision making and corporate social responsibility for being
professional accountants. In addition, this programme has been recognised by many global accounting organisations such as HKICPA, ACCA, CPA Australia, CIMA and AIA.
HKBU School of Business is based in one of the most important financial centres in the world and is placed strategically to address major global business and trade developments.
HKBU School of Business offers students many programmes to choose from, including a BBA programme and 14 postgraduate programmes, ranging from master’s level to PhD.

International Postgraduate Scholarships (IPS)
These are merit awards for postgraduate international students who have demonstrated all-round excellence. Recipients enjoy a full tuition waiver and a living allowance of HKD 100,000.
Diversity Contribution Scholarship
This is for new entrants and considers factors like cultural experiences, work experience, international exposure, overseas education, special achievement and talents. The scholarship could range up to a full tuition waiver.
Entrance Award / Admission Scholarships
The Entrance Award / Admission Scholarships offer financial support to students with excellent qualifications and interview performance.
Graduation Academic Awards / Merit-based Awards
The Graduation Academic Awards / Merit-based Awards reward students for their academic achievements at the time of graduation.
Admission Scholarships for undergraduate students
The scholarships are established to reward outstanding local and non-local students to study in the BBA (Hons) programme.
The academic year of HKBU commences in September each year. Application to the bachelor’s and master’s programmes offered by the HKBU School of Business usually starts from late-September the year before until February to May (application deadlines vary for different programmes).
Applications are considered on a rolling basis and competition increases as the year progresses, so early applications are strongly encouraged.
This programme aims to provide specialised training and practical knowledge to prepare directors, company secretaries and compliance professionals for strengthening the sustainability and accountability of their organisations. Qualified applicants who are interested in
corporate governance of commercial companies and NGO are welcome. Graduates are eligible to apply for full exemption from the examination requirements of The Chartered Governance Institute (formerly The Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators or ICSA) and The Hong Kong Institute of Chartered Secretaries (HKICS).
Master of Science in Corporate Governance and Compliance (MScCGC)
This programme empowers young executives and fresh graduates from all over world to leverage Hong Kong’s unique position to propel their careers. It offers a holistic curriculum in business, from fundamental business disciplines to cutting-edge courses in digital economy,
innovations and big data, which helps young executives develop the mix of skills and knowledge needed to succeed in a business world. In addition, the Capstone Business Project enables students to gain practical experience and acquire thorough knowledge of management in various global and regional business environments.
Master of Science in Business Management (MScBM)
This one-year full-time programme integrates economic theory with applied economic analysis, and will enable students to understand the economy of China and the world. The curriculum provides students with flexibility for pursuing a career in applied economics or future research-oriented studies. Graduates will be equipped with analytical skills and techniques for analysing business and real-world problems from the economic perspective. Graduates are trained to be competent economic analysts in business and public sectors. Outstanding students are offered scholarships and merit-based awards.
Master of Science in Applied Economics (MScAEcon)
Nowadays, a lot more companies are strategically searching for analytics-enabled people with business economics knowledge as well as statistical and programming skills for providing business insights and responding to changes in intellectual property policy, and competition and regulatory policies. This programme is thoughtfully designed to serve the increasing demand for talents in the areas of data analytics and business economics in Hong Kong and other parts of the world. Students who are interested in becoming analytics- enabled professionals and data strategists are welcome to apply.
Master of Science in Data Analytics and Business Economics (MScDABE)
This 15-month full-time programme is jointly offered by HKBU and France’s Grenoble École de Management. Bachelor’s degree holders from all disciplines are welcome. This programme is tailor-made to maximize personal growth and global exposure for future business leaders. The curriculum is designed to embrace a global view with case studies and business projects, which strengthen practical skills on entrepreneurship and global marketing. With Grenoble being the Silicon Valley of France and Hong Kong being the gateway to Asian markets, students can experience the business environment in two continents.
Master of Science in Entrepreneurship and Global Marketing (MScEGM)
This inter-disciplinary programme will widen and deepen students’ understanding of the rapidly changing landscape and the impact of new technologies on traditional finance models. This programme will empower students with knowledge in Finance, FinTech, Financial Analytics, Machine Learning, Financial Computing, Textual Analysis, Cybersecurity, Privacy, Blockchain, Cryptocurrency, Algorithmic
Trading, Financial Fraud and Regulatory Compliance. Students will be well-prepared for the fast-growing demand of today’s data-driven economy, and will be able to take the Financial Industry to the next level.
Master of Science in Finance (FinTech and Financial Analytics) (MScFTFA)
This one-year full-time programme is a joint degree offered by HKBU and the University of Sheffield in the UK. This programme will benefit recent graduates as well as those in general and line management, who seek a thorough education in the theories and practice of global marketing management, for working in the multinational organisations. By having students spend the 1st semester in the UK and the 2nd
semester in Hong Kong, this programme utilises the synergies of having two partnering institutions located in different regions of the world – bringing global exposure to students.
Master of Science in Global Marketing Management (MScGMM)
In this 4-year full-time PhD programme, students will be able to conduct quality and impactful research works under the supervision of the faculties. Students will also be provided with enormous research resources, including research facilities and scholarships, to support their intellectual journey. There are opportunities for international conference exposure and overseas attachment to build networks and collaborate with international scholars. Outstanding students will be admitted into the Double-degree PhD programme co-supervised by
faculties of HKBU and the University of Groningen.
PhD
This programme offers high-quality business studies from 7 concentrations, including Accounting (direct entry only), Economics and Data Analytics, Entrepreneurship, Finance, Human Resources Management, Information Systems and Business Intelligence and Marketing. BBA (Hons) students can investigate different concentrations in the first year before choosing a specialised concentration (except Accounting).
Students may graduate from Double Degree programmes with Simon Fraser University or Kozminski University, Double Concentration within the programme, or a Minor in a non-business discipline from HKBU.
