Strategic Urban Planning & Policies
This programme focuses on how urban planning and policy making responds to urban dynamics and how different stakeholders are engaged in the co-creation of a commonly desired urban development.
Graduates are able to assess socio-spatial dynamics in a city, identify and engage with stakeholders in a planning process and come up with creative solutions to complex urban problems.
Urban Housing, Equity & Social Justice
This programme focuses on evaluating the complex process of providing adequate housing from a human rights and gender perspective. Graduates will be able to apply different assessment tools including stakeholder analysis,housing needs assessment and climate change adaptation strategies in housing.
Land Management: Law, Finance, Real Estate & Natural Resources
This programme focuses on how land and natural resources are accessed, managed and how these aspects contribute to, or hinder the development of equitable and sustainable cities. Graduates will be able to navigate the relationships and conflicts between urban stakeholders and provide good governance solutions that deliver integrated natural resource management to cities.
Urban Economic Development: Innovation & Entrepreneurship
This programme examines how cities foster innovation and entrepreneurship to drive growth and build economic resilience in a competitive globalised economy. Graduates will be able to interpret real-world data to deliver innovative solutions for economic resilience in the context of an unstable global economic climate.
Urban Environment, Sustainability & Climate Change
This programme focuses on different conceptual, analytical and practical approaches to foster sustainable, smart, and climate-resilient cities worldwide. Smart and resilient cities are essential in tackling the growing threat of climate instability. In this programme you will gain the qualifications to become an urban development professional specialised in environment, sustainability and climate change management.
Infrastructure & Green Cities
In the face of continuous urban growth, the need for cities to become greener and more sustainable has never been more pressing. In this programme you will gain the qualifications to become an urban development professional specialised in green city infrastructure management.
Graduates are able to manage switches to a circular economy, renewable energy, green transport and infrastructure (incl. drainage) and sanitation, and the provision of drinking water.
