Building information Modelling (BIM)
Building Information Modelling (BIM) represents a collection of technologies, procedures, and regulations that are transforming the construction field, and its capabilities are now deemed essential for all industry practitioners. The architecture, engineering, and construction industry is witnessing a transition toward making BIM a fundamental requirement on an international scale. This evolution highlights the need for professionals to possess the appropriate blend of process and technology skills. BIM implementation involves collaboration among diverse disciplines within the built environment, each contributing uniquely to establish a cohesive digital model containing integrated data covering a facility's entire lifecycle. BIM is versatile and is applicable on different scales, from a 3D representation of a single building to a comprehensive virtual model of an entire city.
DISCOVER MOREBuilding information Modelling
Building Information Modelling, known as BIM, plays a key role in the construction sector. Modern engineering practices in design, construction, production, and maintenance are guided by BIM concepts. Fundamentally, this means that the entire construction project and its elements progress within the confines of a spatial information model of either a singular or interconnected building.
The aim of the Master's programme in Building Information Modelling is to equip students with professional engineering expertise and skills essential for BIM managerial roles. This includes proficiency in project design, implementation, asset management, and staying up-to-date with the latest engineering information modeling advancements.
WHAT WILL YOU LEARN:
The Building Information Modelling Master's Programme aims to foster the following student skills:
- Select and employ inventive information technology solutions within the design, construction, and property management domains.
- Develop the capacity to strategize and execute digitalization solutions within the construction sector.
- Effectively prepare and coordinate the development aspects of integrated construction projects.
- Organizing and executing construction and manufacturing processes, as well as managing maintenance tasks for built properties using information modeling.
- Create BIM implementation strategies for both company-wide and project-specific contexts.
- Recognize, initiate, and execute processes, in addition to monitoring and facilitating changes in workplace culture.
CAREER OPPORTUNITIES:
Working as a BIM manager for building and infrastructure information modeling, BIM project coordinator or BIM expert within private and public builders and developers' organizations, property management entities, design, contracting, and manufacturing companies. Also, considering doctoral studies for career progression.
